ESPN’s Louis Riddick ranks Jon Gruden as 10th-best coach in NFL

Heading into 2019, there were some doubts that Jon Gruden had what it takes to get the Raiders back on track after the decade-long coaching hiatus. However, not everyone believes that Gruden is struggling in his return to the Silver and Black.

According to ESPN’s Louis Riddick, Gruden is currently the 10th-best head coach in the NFL. Ranked ahead of him are all Super Bowl-winning coaches, outside of Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and Matt Nagy. Here is Riddick’s full list below:

A successful 2019 season for Gruden will go a long way in restoring his reputation across the NFL. If the Raiders can reach seven or eight wins, or somehow, sneak into the playoffs, Gruden will remind everyone just how great of a coach he is. This season should tell us a lot about what Gruden can still offer as a head coach.
