ESPN releases preseason college football power rankings for 2019

It’s on. The various preseason college football rankings are coming in, and if we’re honest, the latest one is one of the few we’ve seen to actually favor Ohio State.

ESPN has released its 2019 College Football Power Rankings, and the Buckeyes check in at a cool No. 5. Here’s the rest of the top 25.

ESPN preseason power rankings for 2019

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Oklahoma
5. Ohio State
6. Michigan
7. LSU
8. Notre Dame
9. Florida
10. Texas
11. Oregon
12. Texas A&M
13. Utah
14. Washington
15. Penn State
16. Auburn
17. UCF
18. Iowa
19. Nebraska
20. Stanford
21. Syracuse
22. Wisconsin
23. Army
24. Michigan State
25. Iowa State

As mentioned, the worldwide leader actually shows a little respect to Ohio State this time around, but that hasn’t been the case in most of what it has thrown out to the world to this point.

The 2019 college football season kicks off with Week Zero on August 24 with Florida and Miami tussling in Orlando at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Arizona then travels across the Pacific to Hawaii for the second matchup of Week Zero. That game kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET — or 7:30 PM Hawaii Time if you’re keeping track — and will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.

Hang loose.
