ESPN projects Raiders to win 5 games in 2019

Across the NFL, the expectation is that the Oakland Raiders will be a much-improved team in 2019. The team added several high-quality players this offseason on offense, such as Antonio Brown, Trent Brown and Tyrell Williams. But they were also able to address their defense as well, bringing in Lamarcus Joyner, Brandon Marshall and rookies Clelin Ferrell and Johnathan Abram.

But the biggest question is how much did they improve in just one offseason? That remains to be seen. However, we are starting to see more predictions and projections for the Raiders in 2019 that are somewhat concerning.

According to ESPN’s Mike Clay, he is projecting the Raiders to win just five games next season as he believes they have the 30th-ranked roster in the NFL. Take a look at his stat predictions for the team and score projections for each week.

According to Clay, the Raiders are scheduled to be favorites in just one game this season; Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Clay believes the Raiders have a 59 percent chance to win that game; by far the highest of the season.

If Oakland’s talent can gel quickly, they should be a much-improved team next season. While they still may be a year away from being a playoff contender, don’t be surprised if they are much more competitive this season than in 2018.
