ESPN projects Colts’ Marlon Mack to have 1,100 rushing yards

As the Indianapolis Colts offense looks to remain one of the better units in the NFL for the 2019 campaign, they will be looking to do so while featuring the rushing attack even more.

With the unit currently being led by third-year back Marlon Mack, the expectations are high. After a strong second half of the season in 2018, Mack is being pegged as a potential breakout candidate.

ESPN’s Mike Clay went through the projections for the Colts offense in 2019, which had Mack rushing for over 1,100 yards.

Mack’s projected line for the 2019 season looks like this: 15 games, 247 rushing attempts, 1,100 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. His final line—including receiving stats—had him finishing as the RB19 in fantasy football.

The Colts offense is one that is expected to be a stout unit for the upcoming season as long as everyone stays healthy. In order for Mack to potentially reach a career-high in numbers, he must stay on the field. That’s something he’s struggled with during his short career thus far.

Though he was a bit streak during the second half of the season, Mack showed that he has all of the makings to be a valuable fantasy football asset and one of the up-and-coming running backs in the league.

With breakaway speed, Mack flashed improved vision during his second season behind a vastly improved offensive line. He was also a solid goal-line back, recording the fifth-most rushing touchdowns inside the 10-yard line.

The Colts are trying to be a top-five rushing unit for the 2019 season, which is music to the ears of fantasy football managers who have stock in Mack.

As long as he stays healthy, there is a good chance he puts up some career numbers.
