ESPN personality Will Cain seemed awfully upset about ‘High Noon’ April Fools’ prank

ESPN radio and TV personality Will Cain apparently thought he was going to fill in for Bomani Jones and co-host Monday’s episode of High Noon with Pablo Torre.

He had his opening dialogue ready to go and seemed genuinely excited to be a part of the show. That was, well, until Jones showed up and kicked him off the set.

Cain, who did appear to be surprised, was confused by why Jones was on set and what he meant by “got you.” It all occurred to Cain in realtime that he was being booted off the show as part of a prank. And he was salty about it.

Cain said as he walked away:

“Next time you have me on, you jerks won’t have me on as a joke.”

To which Jones replied:

“Next time they have you on will be the day I quit.”

Of course, there was a chance that Cain was in on the whole prank. He did share the video on Twitter. Plus, would ESPN really have Cain go through production meetings and work on dialogue for High Noon only to force him off the show after 45 seconds? That would be pretty amazing, if so.

Jones and Cain have clashed on Twitter numerous times over the past few years, and Jones refused to appear on any debate-style program that involved Cain.

Maybe it was real. Nothing is real about April Fools’ jokes, but maybe — just maybe — this one can be real.
