ESPN NFL analyst picks Dolphins to win AFC East

While teams are just getting their first work in on the field, meaningful games are still months away for all 32 franchises across the league, but that doesn’t mean that people are withholding their thoughts.

On an episode of ESPN’s “First Take,” Bart Scott, Alan Hahn and Louis Riddick were discussing Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and whether or not he needs to bring his team on a deep playoff run to silence critics.

During the conversation, Riddick took control and started listing off playoff quarterbacks that Jackson may have to face in the postseason, and he named Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. However, he didn’t stop there. He made a claim about Tagovailoa and the Dolphins this season.

“Yeah, I’m gonna say it, whether that means dealing with Tua, because you’re gonna deal with Tua because Miami’s gonna win the AFC East,” Riddick said.

The Dolphins have done a lot to improve their team since bringing in Mike McDaniel last offseason. That includes trading for Tyreek Hill and Jalen Ramsey, signing Terron Armstead, Connor Williams and David Long as well as hiring Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator.

With all of that, Miami should be in contention for the division, despite the New York Jets also improving and the Buffalo Bills remaining one the most talented rosters in football today.

If the Dolphins were to win the AFC East (for the first time since 2008) and win a game in the playoffs (for the first time since 2000), the fan base will be overjoyed, but making a deep run will mean even more.
