ESPN names WR Tajae Sharpe Titans’ biggest surprise offseason standout

With all the depth the Tennessee Titans currently feature at wide receiver, it’s going to take a lot for players to make names for themselves and secure a spot on the roster.

Heading into his fourth season, wideout Tajae Sharpe is well on his way to doing just that.

ESPN’s Turron Davenport called Sharpe the team’s biggest surprise offseason standout.

“Sharpe welcomes the competition from free agent Adam Humphries and second-round pick A.J. Brown,” he wrote. “He continues to exhibit precise route-running skills, leading to frequent targets from Marcus Mariota and Ryan Tannehill. Sharpe has hauled in pretty much everything thrown his way. The fifth-year veteran stood out especially in red zone 7-on-7 periods. Sharpe figures to be in the mix for the No. 3 wideout spot and is showing his versatility by lining up in multiple WR spots.”

Last season, Sharpe recorded 26 receptions for 316 yards and two touchdowns. On his career, he totals 67 receptions for 838 yards and four scores.

Sharpe is off to a good start ahead of the 2019 season, but he’s going to have to stay consistent if he hopes to see a large amount of playing time amongst all the new competition.
