ESPN names Jordan Howard as the Eagles player on the roster bubble entering training camp

Jordan Howard re-signed with the Eagles back in April with the impression that he’d likely carve out a role as Philadelphia’s goal line or power back. Before returning to the Eagles, Howard was candid in telling the media that he felt his career was over until Howie Roseman made the call.

Now, Howard could likely be in a battle for his career after the Eagles claimed veteran running back Kerryon Johnson off waivers.

ESPN recently named one player on the roster bubble for all 32 NFL teams, and Howard was the choice for Philadelphia.

Veteran in danger: Jordan Howard, RB

Why he could get cut: The running back room has gotten crowded since the Eagles re-signed Howard to a one-year deal in April. Philadelphia selected Memphis RB Kenneth Gainwell in the fifth round of the draft, then claimed former Lion Kerryon Johnson off waivers in May. The overall health of Johnson will be questioned until he’s able to perform in training camp but with Miles Sanders entrenched as the starter, Howard will battle with Boston Scott and Jason Huntley for the final roster spots at running back.
