ESPN makes a bold prediction for the Week 3 Vikings-Titans game

The Vikings’ new-look defense has looked out of place through the first two games. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has not.

Tannehill has thrown for 488 passing yards, six touchdown passes and no interceptions in two games.

The Titans have their weaknesses: special teams has been inconsistent and the run blocking hasn’t been good enough for Derrick Henry, but the play at quarterback appears to be a strong suit.

ESPN’s Turron Davenport made a bold prediction for the Titans game, and with how both teams are performing, it might not even be that bold of a claim. Here’s what he said:

“Titans QB Ryan Tannehill will finish with 300-plus passing yards. That might not seem bold, but here’s something to consider: Tannehill has finished with 300 or more passing yards only three times since taking over in Week 7 last season. Defenses are focused on stopping Derrick Henry, which presents one-on-one matchups for the receivers. Tannehill and the passing game should have the advantage against a depleted Vikings secondary in those situations.”

Tannehill has yet to throw for 300-plus yards in a 2020 game, but the Vikings secondary is the Vikings secondary, so we’ll see.
