ESPN lists the biggest Vikings question left to be answered

Minnesota’s offensive line had an up-and-down 2020. The Vikings also saw left tackle Riley Reiff leave this offseason.

Reiff had a PFF grade of 71.4 and gave up just one sack this past season. Minnesota will presumably replace Reiff with first-round pick Christian Darrisaw.

ESPN’s Courtney Cronin thinks the Vikings offensive line remained a question mark. Cronin wrote:

“Will the projected starting five of Christian DarrisawEzra ClevelandGarrett BradburyWyatt Davis and Brian O’Neill be ready to go Week 1? We didn’t see the Vikings’ first-rounder Darrisaw take snaps as the first-team left tackle in OTAs or minicamp, partially due to the fact that Minnesota wanted to ease him into the mix and because he was limited while recovering from a groin strain this spring. Additionally, will the Vikings use the $13.5 million in cap space to bring in a No. 3 receiver to give the offense another layer in the passing game? And most importantly, who starts at defensive end opposite Danielle Hunter?”

Third-rounder Wyatt Davis could slot into the starting guard role, but if Davis isn’t ready to start, maybe the Vikings could go out and land a guard in free agency. However, as Cronin pointed out, there are other pressing needs. Maybe the Vikings will just let the offensive line remain a little uncertain for the time being.
