ESPN: Jazz’s first-quarter point total against Thunder was lowest of season

The Utah Jazz have a game under their belt, but they hadn’t shaken out all the rust by the time they faced the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As the Thunder took a 29-15 lead into the second quarter, they held the Jazz to their lowest-scoring quarter of the entire season, ESPN’s Doris Burke said on the broadcast.

Rudy Gobert led the Jazz with six points in the first quarter, and Utah only made one 3-pointer.

Oklahoma City, meanwhile, got out to a quick lead headlined by a 10-0 run in the first quarter.

Danilo Gallinari had 11 points to lead the Thunder in the first quarter, which included a pair of 3-pointers and a thunderous dunk for the first basket of the game.

Oklahoma City also had some defense lead to offense.

Lu Dort may have been scoerless in the quarter, but he got a steal that led to a Gallinari put-back.

Nerlens Noel also had a nice block that led to basket in transition.
