New Orleans Saints fans have an emotional date with a 14-year-old football game on Monday night.
ESPN is re-airing the entirety of the Saints – Falcons game from 2006 as part of their MNF Classics series, which looks back at memorable games in Monday Night Football history.
That Saints – Falcons game, the first played in the Superdome after New Orleans was rocked by Hurricane Katrina, was immortalized thanks to a blocked punt by Steve Gleason. It took a herculean effort to even have the stadium ready to play that game, but they made it happen. And that Saints team gave them a performance for the ages.
On Twitter, fans of the Saints got emotional even before the kickoff.
This is going to be fun to watch.
