ESPN denies report Taylor Swift will perform at College Football National Championship

Taylor Swift may or may not be performing at halftime of the College Football National Championship Game. It depends who you believe.

A report from Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday said the singer-songwriter had reached an agreement to perform at halftime of the Jan. 8. However, ESPN released a statement to Sports Illustrated refuting the report.

Swift premiered a small portion of "Ready for It," a new song off her forthcoming album "Reputation" during the Alabama-Florida State game Saturday on ESPN.

"Reports of Taylor Swift performing at the College Football Playoff National Championship are inaccurate," the statement said. "We are pleased that Taylor chose ESPN and ABC's college football coverage as a platform to debut her new song "Ready For It" however, there is nothing more to announce at this time."

Entertainment Tonight's story was based on an anonymous source. The source also told Entertainment Tonight that Swift has a deal in place with ESPN to roll out music from "Reputation" throughout the season.

Swift's first single from "Reputation," "Look What You Made Me Do," shot to No. 1 on this week's Billboard Hot 100 after its release Aug. 25. The accompanying music video set the record on YouTube for the most-watched video in a 24-hour period.
