ESPN beat writers collectively predict winless season for Cardinals in 2019

With last week’s release of the 2019 NFL schedule, many writers put together their predictions for the year and the wins and losses for the teams they cover. Such was the case for ESPN’s team reporters.

Based on the predictions for each of the writers who cover Arizona’s opponents, the Arizona Cardinals will go winless in 2019.

Week 1 vs. Detroit Lions: Michael Rothstein predicts a Lions win.

Week 2 at Baltimore Ravens: Jamison Hensley predicts a Ravens win.

Week 3 vs. Carolina Panthers: David Newton predicts a Panthers win.

Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks: Brady Henderson believes Seattle will win.

Week 5 at Cincinnati Bengals: Katherine Terrell sees a Bengals win.

Week 6 vs. Atlanta Falcons: Vaughn McClure predicts the Falcons will win.

Week 7 at New York Giants: Jordan Raanan predicts a Giants win.

Week 8 at New Orleans Saints: Mike Triplett believes the Saints will win.

Week 9 vs. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Wagoner sees a 49ers win on Halloween.

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jenna Laine believes the Bucs will win.

Week 11 at San Francisco 49ers: Wagoner again sees the 49ers beating the Cardinals.

Week 12: BYE

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams: Lindsey Thiry predicts a Rams win.

Week 14 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jeremy Fowler sees a Steelers win.

Week 15 vs. Cleveland Browns: Pat McManamon predicts a Browns win.

Week 16 at Seattle Seahawks: Again, Brady Henderson predicts the Seahawks will win.

Week 17 at L.A. Rams: Thiry again predicts a Rams win.

Josh Weinfuss, who covers the Cardinals, predicts the Cardinals will go 5-11, picking them to win against the Panthers, Bengals, Giants and 49ers (twice).

This is not the first time the Cardinals were collectively predicted to have a winless season. According to Revenge of the Birds’ Seth Cox, ESPN’s beat writers also collectively predicted a winless Cardinals season in 2018.

Arizona finished 3-13.

Will this year be different?
