ESPN bans LaVar Ball from all platforms indefinitely

LaVar Ball will not be asked to be back on ESPN any time soon, according to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic. Per Deitsch, ESPN has “no plans” of having Ball back on their programs in the immediate future, nor do they intend on using him as a source for their digital platforms.

While the source didn’t specify why LaVar wouldn’t be asked to return ESPN, it’s safe to assume it’s because of the inappropriate comments he made towards “First Take” host Molly Qerim on Monday.

Here was the exchange between Ball and Qerim:

Qerim: “LaVar, can I switch gears with you?”

Ball: “You can switch gears with me any time.”

Qerim: “Let’s stay focused here.”

After Ball’s comments went viral, TMZ got a comment from Qerim, who said that ESPN has been “really supportive” throughout the process, and they showed their support by banning Ball from their programs. Ball has not apologized or responded to the backlash from his comments.
