Livingston's new signing Esmael Gonvalves has been subjected to shocking racist abuse online.
It comes as the player’s arrival at the Lothian club was announced earlier today.
The striker put pen to paper to join David Martindale's side on a two-year deal, with the option to extend the contract by a further season.
The 30-year-old previously enjoyed a spell at Hearts in 2017 and was on loan at St Mirren four years previously.
He joins Livingston following spells in Japan, India and Bangladesh.
But the disgusting comments followed with the club now vowing to respond and punish the the idiot accordingly.
Livingston's official Twitter account posted a Tweet, stating that they will investigate the comments in a bid to identify the abuser.
The tweet read: "The club is aware of a tweet containing racial abuse aimed at new signing Esmaël Gonçalves.
"We’ll be following the relevant protocol to ensure this is dealt with appropriately and pushing to ensure the Twitter user is punished accordingly."
