Escaped python on the loose in Fife town as locals urged to keep a look out

People in a Fife town have been urged to watch out as a python is on the loose.

Scott Jason Birrell took to Facebook to ask Kirkcaldy locals to keep an eye out for his pet snake, which escaped its cage on Thursday night.

The sizeable animal is black with brown/silver coloured spots.

It escaped from its home in the Massereene Road area of Kirkcaldy between the times of 11pm and 5am.

Scott put out a call for help on his social media page.

He wrote: "Can everyone near or in the massereene road in kirkcaldy area keep an eye out for a python as she has escaped her tank last night between the times 11:00pm and 05:00am if any one can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

"Thanks you!!"

The post was widely shared on social media, with many locals in Kirkcaldy now keeping an eye out for the slithering serpent.
