Officers in Texas were “hop on the tail” of an unlikely escape artist - a kangaroo.
Footage shared by Waco Police Department on Tuesday (26 May) shows officers pursuing the runaway mammal after receiving reports that the kangaroo had escaped from Waco Wildlife Rescue.
The animal was safely captured after a brief chase, which saw officers restrain the animal by its tail. It was returned home with no injuries to the kangaroo or any of the officers.
It is the second time within a year that the wildlife center has reported a marsupial breakout. In September, two kangaroos escaped but were returned later that same day.
