An escaped horse on a busy motorway has caused travel chaos in Falkirk and beyond.
The animal was first reported around 7.58am on Friday November 12 at the carriageway between Junction 8 and Junction 9 of the M80.
Traffic Scotland then added that the horse had "managed to stir up some trouble" at around 8.27am and said TRISS were on the way.
The northbound carriageway between the two junctions was closed as a result and drivers were told to use an alternative route.
The road was reopened with all lanes running at around 8.45am after the horse was steered away from traffic.
The horse was eventually reunited with its owner who said she had a "superficial injury" but was okay.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.45am on Friday, 12 November, police were made aware of a horse on the road, on the M80 near junction 9 towards Stirling.
"Officers attended and the horse was traced safely. It has since been secured and reunited with its owner.”
