Escaped herd of cows cause chaos in quiet Scots housing estate

An escaped herd of cows is causing chaos in a quiet housing estate.

The animals have been escaping from a farm near Glasgow’s Crookston and making their way to the residential area.

They have damaged gardens, left cow pats on driveways and wrecked outside Christmas decorations.

One woman said the beasts are “basically terrorising the whole neighbourhood” and that children are scared to leave their house in case they “bump into a cow”.

She said: “Around 6.30pm on Friday, I was going to take my dog for a walk and I opened the door to be met with the cows right on my drive.

“They weren’t fazed in the slightest but I was terrified and immediately shut the door and phoned the police.

“One of my neighbours had her Christmas decorations ruined and another woke up to a pile of poo right outside her door.”

A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and moved the cows back into the field.”
