Escaped cows 'terrorise' Glasgow neighbourhood and wreck Christmas decorations

A herd of escaped cows have been 'terrorising' a quiet housing estate in Glasgow.

The animals had managed to escape from a farm near Crookston before making their way to the residential area.

Locals report the the herd as damaging gardens, leaving cow pats on driveways and even wrecking Christmas decorations.

One woman told the Daily Record the beasts are “basically terrorising the whole neighbourhood” and that children are scared to leave their house in case they “bump into a cow”.

She said: “Around 6.30pm on Friday, I was going to take my dog for a walk and I opened the door to be met with the cows right on my drive.

“They weren’t fazed in the slightest but I was terrified and immediately shut the door and phoned the police.

“One of my neighbours had her Christmas decorations ruined and another woke up to a pile of poo right outside her door.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers attended and moved the cows back into the field.”
