Escape 2020 in Swansea finally has a new date and part of the line up has been confirmed

A new date for Swansea's Escape music festival has finally been announced.

Excitement was at fever pitch in June 2019 when it was announced that  Escape Into The Park  would be making a comeback at its home at  Swansea's  Singleton Park.

But since the tickets, priced between £70 and £100 for a day, were released, many had grown anxious  over the lack of updates and no sign of the line-up being announced.

But new organisers have now taken over the running of the event and a new date and some of the line up has been confirmed.

Here's everything you need to know about the highly-anticipated music festival, now known as Escape 2020.

When is it?

Escape music festival in Singleton Park, Swansea will now go ahead on Saturday,September 26.

Who is organising the event?

Previous promoter Jonathan Wignall said he was forced to withdraw from managing the event due to ill health.

It's been confirmed that, working alongside Swansea Council, the Climax Live team have stepped in.

Climax Live are Wales’ largest festival company and long-standing operators of the Inside Out Festival in Cardiff and both the Colour Clash and Party at the Park Festivals in Tredegar Park, Newport.

A statement on Escape Music Events Facebook page said: "To put your minds at rest, we are closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation and will take any necessary action regarding the festival based on advice from the World Health Organisation."

Can I still go if I've bought tickets through the previous organisers?

All ticket holders have been emailed and Climax Live will honour all tickets purchased through the previous promoter for the new festival date.

What if I can't make the new date, can I get a refund?

Yes, you can request a full refund through the website.

Refund requests must be made by Monday April 20.

Who is performing?

The line-up will be across four main stages with the "biggest names in house, bass, hard house and trance".

The line up so far includes Eddie Halliwell, Mousse T, Sam Divine, Hybrid Minds, Chicane, Judge Jules, Cally & Juice and K Motionz.

Phase 2 line up will be announced on Sunday, May 31 and the full line up will be announced on Sunday, June 28 .

How do I get tickets?

You can pre-register tickets on Escape's Facebook page or on the website. Organisers are planning on selling tickets once the full line up is announced. (subject to Covid-19 lockdown)
