ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service have contained a grass fire at Honeysuckle Road, Pialligo.
ACT's Emergency Services Agency earlier says the fire currently does not pose a threat to properties.
Crews will remain at the scene throughout the afternoon to black out the fire ground.
ACT ESA said smoke would be visible from nearby areas, including Canberra Avenue.
Emergency services were called to the fire at 12.15pm.
The alert level for the fire is Advice.
Meanwhile, EVO Energy has detected power outages affecting some areas in Beard, Canberra Airport, Fyshwick, Jerrabomberra, Kowen, Majura, Oaks Estate, Pialligo, Queanbeyan, Symonston.
