Eryk Anders vs. Gerald Meerschaert added to UFC on ESPN+ 19 in Tampa

Eryk Anders is making the drop back down to 185 pounds.

Anders, who’s had three of his past four bouts at light heavyweight, will take on Gerald Meerschaert in a middleweight fight at UFC on ESPN+ 19 on Oct. 12 in Tampa, Fla. The fight was announced on the UFC’s “Unfiltered” podcast.

Anders (12-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) bounced back from a three-fight losing skid, taking out Vinicius Moreira in the first round at UFC on ESPN 3. After fighting the majority of his career at middleweight, he made the move up to 205 pounds in a “Fight of the Night” TKO loss to Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 137. He alternated between the two divisions in his last several outings.

Meerschaert (29-11 MMA, 5-3 UFC) avoided a losing skid of his own when he choked out Trevin Giles in the third round at UFC on ESPN 5. He was able to rebound after back-to-back losses to Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland. Meerschaert has finished all five of his UFC wins, as he looks to add another one.

With the addition, the UFC on ESPN+ 19 lineup includes:

  • Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Michelle Waterson
  • Devin Clark vs. Ryan Spann
  • J.J. Aldrich vs. Lauren Mueller
  • Mackenzie Dern vs. Amanda Ribas
  • Tim Elliott vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
  • Kron Gracie vs. Cub Swanson
  • Max Griffin vs. Alex Morono
  • Eryk Anders vs. Gerald Meerschaert
