Bali: Thai travellers are being warned not to visit Bali, Indonesia after the resort island’s volcano erupted.
The Thai Embassy in Jakarta raised the warning yesterday, following a report that Mount Agung spewed ash onto the southern part of the island.
Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport has already cancelled some flights.
The embassy urged the travellers to closely monitor flight schedules and updates from Indonesian authorities.
“They can also contact the Thai consulate in Denpasar, the capital of Bali, for help,” the embassy said.
Bali residents witnessed a major eruption in 1963 before the volcano remained dormant for more than 50 years. It became active again in 2017.
