Erskine skating star looking forward to hit ITV show

Erskine professional ice dancer Mark Hanretty is hoping to skate off with the Dancing on Ice trophy with his new partner.

Mark is taking part in his tenth series of the hit ITV show.

And producers have announced he has been paired with Pussycat Doll, Kymberly Wyatt.

Mark posted a photo of the pair on the ice on Twitter with the caption: “The celebrity partner of dreams! So delighted to be partnered this year with Kimberly Wyatt.

“Cannot wait to start training and get ready for the live shows!”

Kimberly, who won Celebrity Masterchef in 2015, also commented on Instagram she was delighted with the pairing.

She said: “I am happy to announce that my Dancing on Ice pro partner is Mark Hanretty.

“He is absolutely gorgeous on the ice with the most amazing lines! I couldn’t be happier! In the short amount of time we spent on the ice I feel so excited about what we can hope to achieve as partners.

“But I have a lot to learn and training is about to get even tougher! And so it begins!”

Angela, from Greenock, took part in the show for the first time in January and skated off with the trophy with her celeb partner, Capital FM DJ Sonny Jay.

Presented by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the show also features the expert ice panel of Torvill and Dean, former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips and Ashley Banjo, who will assess the celebrities.

Other celebrities heating up the ice this year include England rugby star Ben Foden, the Happy Mondays’ Bez, ex-Strictly pro Brendan Cole, Olympic BMX racer Kye Whyte, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens and Paralympic athlete Stef Reid.

Dancing On Ice will begin in January 2022 and run for 10 weeks on STV.
