Erskine Community Garden's memorial bench for beloved dog Bruno stolen by heartless thieves

Police are hunting brazen thieves who stole a number of items 'of enormous sentimental value' from a community garden in Erskine.

Officers are investigating after the heartless vandals made off with a memorial bench for a beloved dog, a kids' wooden picnic bench and a Minnie Mouse-themed seat.

Members of the local community have set up a fundraiser in a bid to replace the items, while police appeal for information.

Sharing a post on Facebook, the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division said: "Erskine Community Police are appealing for information regarding items which have been taken from the Erskine Community Garden. These items have enormous sentimental value to the Community of Erskine.

"The bench was a memorial to Bruno, a local dog well known and loved by many!

"The other items include a child size wooden picnic bench decorated and donated by a local Brownie group, and a child size seat bench, recently refurbished into a Minnie Mouse theme.

"A local fundraiser has been established by Erskine Community garden to replace Bruno's Buddy Bench, and would therefore appeal to anyone who has knowledge of the whereabouts of these items to call the Police on 101."
