Eros Grezda breaks silence over Rangers spitting row as outcast winger makes cryptic social media claim

Eros Grezda has apologised for the spitting shame that has ended his Rangers career - but insists there's two sides to the story.

Steven Gerrard last week declared the winger would never play for the club again after allegedly spitting on Ballymena United's Andrew Burns during a development squad clash.

The incident led to angry exchanges following which midfielder Greg Docherty was praised for his role as peacemaker as the club then launched an internal investigation.

The Albanian, a £1.8million signing from Osijek last summer, had already been told to find a new club having slipped well down the Ibrox pecking order.

But following last week's headlines, Grezda has now broken his silence.

He wrote on Instagram: "Totally agree spitting is disgusting, but there is always two sides to a story!!!

"Apologies for last days actions"

Last week, Gerrard told Grezda in no uncertain terms where he stood over the allegations.

He said: “Grezda has been told face-to-face what his situation is. He’s been advised to find a different challenge for himself and his representation is aware of that.

“We’re trying to be respectful and give him game time to keep his fitness levels up as there are still a few markets and windows open around the world that might suit him.

“However, if you behave in that manner you won’t represent this club any level. No one behaves like that and wears the Rangers shirt so there will be a disciplinary situation.”
