A 12,000sq ft outdoor clubbing venue is set to open in east London with a series of 12-hour dance parties this summer.
Ernie’s Yard, a new venture from the people behind Tottenham Hale club The Cause, hopes to launch on Bidder Street in Canning Town on June 25.
Built on a former scrapyard using repurposed shipping containers, the venue will comprise multiple areas: a dancefloor with overlooking balconies, a street food section with various traders and more yet to be confirmed.
The opening weeks will host of a number of well-known club nights and promoters — Secretsundaze, Syzygy, Percolate, Art of Dark, Feelings Worldwide, Goodlife, Adonis, Warm Up and more to be announced — with events set to continue all-year round, thanks to “stretch tents and clear roofing featured throughout the site”.
Stuart Glen, co-founder of Ernie’s Yard, said he purchased the 40ft shipping containers two years ago, and has since been looking for a site to house them. “It’s been a sticky situation to say the least but somehow we’ve managed to pull in some favours, met an East End legend called Ernie and Bob’s your fathers brother — Ernie’s Yard was born, a killer new daytime space for London,” Glen said.

This is the latest expansion for Glen, having first opened The Cause in April 2018. The club, which has become known for its charitable donations to mental health charities and its high-energy club nights, restyled itself into a Covid-friendly, outdoor venue called Costa Del Tottenham during the pandemic.
