KOCHI: Ernakulam has reported 1,555 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, including 1,549 contact ones. The test positivity rate has touched 9.43%.
West Kochi alone reported more than 74 cases. Nayarambalam reported the highest number of cases with 61, followed by Chellanam and Thrikkakara with 39 each. Less than five cases were reported from 23 places in the district. As many as 1,224 recoveries were reported when 196 were discharged.
The number of patients undergoing treatment at hospitals and houses has touched 15,205. Of the total, 92 are in Kalamassery medical college, 972 in private hospitals and the rest in first and second-line treatment centres, houses and other government hospitals. As many as16,497 samples have been sent for testing.
