KOCHI: A total of 1,839 fresh Covid-19 cases had been diagnosed from various parts of the district on Thursday. Of these, 1,790 persons contracted the disease through local contact while sources of infection of 37 patients are not known.
As many as 3,280 patients who had been under treatment for Covid-19 in different parts of the district recovered on the day. While 2,477 persons have been sent for observation, 4,340 persons who completed the quarantine period have been exempted from observation. The total number of persons who are under home quarantine in the district as on Thursday is 32,684. The number of patients under treatment in the district till date is 16,919.
The most number of Covid positive cases have been reported from Thrikkakara municipality with 85 followed by Kuttampuzha panchayat (50). On Thursday, 18,629 samples were collected from people with symptoms at private and government hospitals in the district.
