Erling Haaland to Real Madrid? Borussia Dortmund striker is attractive for any club in Europe, says Aitor Karanka

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is an attractive option for any club in Europe, believes former Real Madrid defender and assistant coach Aitor Karanka.

Haaland only moved to Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January, but has made an instant impact with 12 goals in his first 11 games and is being monitored by a number of top teams, including Los Blancos.

"He's a young striker who scores goals," Karanka told Spanish news agency EFE. "It's clear he has everything. He is no longer a player who comes from a minor league, shall we say.

"He arrived at Dortmund and has scored important goals, in the league and in the Champions League, and I think what makes him more attractive is the price he has."

The 19-year-old Norwegian has a release clause worth around €75million (£65.8m) and his agent, Mino Raiola, has said he wants to take a player to Real Madrid this summer.

"I think any big club wishing to bring in a player who can score goals would want him," said Karanka, who won the Champions League as a player with Madrid and later worked as Jose Mourinho's assistant at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"And when you have a young player, who scores goals and has that price, which I don't think is particularly high, it's attractive for any club."
