Erling Haaland to Manchester United transfer news as Ralf Rangnick and Old Trafford hierarchy 'prepare £100m offer'

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is the subject of a £100m offer from Manchester United, according to German reports.

The Norwegian scoring sensation is widely expected to move to an elite club by the end of next summer with a £68m release clause activating after the upcoming January window.

At that point it's likely Manchester City and Real Madrid will swoop — but according to Bild, new United interim boss and long-term consultant Ralf Rangnick has other ideas.

They claim he and his Old Trafford superiors are collating a bid worth "118 million euros", around £100m.

Bild has also previously reported that Rangnick, who is close to Haaland's father Alf-Inge, will make persuading the BVB striker one of his top transfer priorities.

The 63-year-old was also the man who signed Haaland for RB Salzburg, from Norway's Molde, back in 2019.

United need new blood up front given the ages of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo, while Anthony Martial has failed to hit the heights.
