Erling Haaland tells Thomas Tuchel his best Chelsea role amid potential transfer switch

Erling Haaland has sent Thomas Tuchel a message over his potential role in the Chelsea team amid constant links with the Blues.

The Norwegian hitman has continually been at the top of the gossip columns, with Chelsea interested in making a move.

It has been reported that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is eyeing a new forward ahead of next season, with Timo Werner having failed to convince in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

That man could certainly be Haaland with the former Red Bull Salzburg man having starred at the Westfalenstadion in recent seasons.

Now, he has left no doubt over his ability to assume the fabled striker role at Stamford Bridge should he complete a big-money switch to west London.

Talking in an interview with Stadium Astro, Haaland said: “Without doubt, number nine, striker, that’s my best role. That’s a position I’m going to play for the next ten years.”

Even before the 20-year-old’s comments, most would suspect that his most suited role was in attack considering his eye-watering goal-scoring record whilst with Dortmund.

Since his arrival in Germany in January 2019, he has plundered a frankly ridiculous 57 goals in just 59 matches in all competitions.

It is a record that has seen Chelsea emerge as contenders for his signature but a move looks relatively tricky with Dortmund reportedly determined not to sell - especially after allowing Jadon Sancho to join Manchester United this summer.

It was previously reported that the Blues had managed to agree on personal terms with the striker but as yet, a move has failed to come to fruition.

Haaland still has three years left to run on his current contract with Dortmund.
