Erling Haaland teases Manchester City transfer announcement with throwback social media snap

Erling Haaland teased his imminent move to Manchester City with a throwback snap of his younger self in the Premier League champions’ colours.

City are set to announce the signing of the Norwegian striker from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £51million any day now.

But first, the 21-year-old showed off his history with the club with pictures from his childhood, growing up as his father, Alf-Inge, played for the club.

Haaland Snr. left Leeds for City in the summer of 2000, weeks after Erling was born, and remained at Eastlands for three years - although he was forced to retire due to an injury suffered barely 12 months into his stay.

On Friday evening, Haaland posted the snaps with the caption: “To be continued…” A ‘soon’ emoji and blue heart also featured.

City’s official account responded to the tweet: “See you soon!”

Earlier in the day, the striker had posted a collage of images from his time at Borussia as part of his farewell to the German club.
