Erling Haaland 'stance' on Liverpool transfer as list of six possible clubs revealed

Liverpool are reportedly on the list of Erling Haaland's ideal next transfer destination.

Despite it only just being over 12 months since Haaland moved to Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg, the 20-year-old's phenomenal form at the German club has already seen him linked with another transfer, especially with concerns over whether Dortmund will qualify for the Champions League next season.

Liverpool have been mooted as a potential destination for Haaland, with his pace, power and finishing ability seemingly readymade for Jurgen Klopp's style of football.

Speculation linking the Norway international to the Reds has only increased with Roberto Firmino's inconsistent form this season.

Reports in Germany have now claimed that Liverpool are one of just six clubs Haaland views as a potential next destination.

SportBild claim that Haaland is ignoring transfer interest from Chelsea, instead opting to aim for a move to what he considers an established top club.

The Reds are listed as one of these clubs, along with both Manchester United and Man City.

Haaland has connections to both Man United and Man City, having played under Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and seen his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, play for City in the early 2000s.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are the other two clubs listed as a potential destination for Haaland but it remains to be seen whether either of the Spanish giants can afford him due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kylian Mbappe has previously been named as Real Madrid's transfer priority this summer, with the French superstar having just 18 months left on his contract at PSG.

Speaking to the BBC last month, Haaland's agent Mino Raiola said there are only 10 clubs in the world that can buy his client.

"It is obvious that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars because it's so difficult to do what he does at his age at his level," he said.

"He will be one of the future stars of the next decade because we see that stars such as Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Messi are coming to an age where everyone asks themselves: 'How long can we still enjoy them?' So everyone is looking for the new generation.

"Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy Haaland and give the platform you would like after you've been in Dortmund… and four of those clubs are in England

"I don't think there's a sports director or trainer in the world who would say 'not interested'. It's like saying: 'Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?'"
