Erling Haaland shirt swap came as a surprise to Stuart Dallas

Stuart Dallas admits he was surprised that Norway star Erling Haaland asked to swap shirts with him at the end of Monday’s Nations League game at Windsor Park.

Haaland, son of former Leeds United midfielder Alf-Inge, made a beeline for the Elland Road winger after scoring twice in the 5-1 win.

“It was a nice touch that he asked me for my shirt,” said Dallas. “Obviously there’s a Leeds connection there but I didn’t think he’d want to swap shirts with me.

“It’s nice that he keeps an eye on Leeds and he wished me all the best in the Premier League which shows the type of person he is.”

Haaland, who has scored 16 goals in 18 games for Borussia Dortmund since joining the Bundesliga club in January, was man of the match at Windsor Park.

“He's a top player and his performance was incredible,” said Dallas. “He’s only 20 and he has a big future ahead of him.

"Maybe someday he’ll come to Leeds! I’m 30 next year, so I’ll be long gone by then, but that would be great. I wish him well.”
