Erling Haaland seeks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer guarantee before completing Man Utd transfer

Erling Braut Haaland has reportedly demanded guarantees over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future in order to complete a move to Manchester United .

Solskjaer and Ed Woodward are believed to have outlined their vision for the club to Haaland as they jetted to Salzburg for an urgent meeting last Friday.

It is reported Haaland is now leaning towards choosing a move to Old Trafford to reunite with his former Molde coach having received the best financial offer from the Premier League club.

But Norwegian outlet TV2 claim he has reservations about Solskjaer's future and wants assurances he will remain in charge before he will commit to the club.

With his young career at an important stage, the 19-year-old is worried about joining the club and head coach Solskjaer leaving if results do not improve.

Should he be given the assurances he wants, United will be favourite for Haaland signature.

He fuelled rumours further by being pictured signing a Manchester United shirt on Tuesday.

A deal is said to be close, although he could return to Red Bull Salzburg on loan for the rest of the season.

Norwegian compatriot John Arne Riise, however, feels there would be little point in Haaland delaying his introduction to the Premier League.

"There's so much talk now of where he's going to go next.

"I think mentally he's ready and physically as well, because he's physically quite strong for being a young boy.

"You can't make too many moves. I think he should go to the Premier League next, and start getting experience and start getting matches.

"If he waits three years to come to the Premier League, he's going to need time to adjust even then, so why doesn't he just come now or at the end of the season and start getting that experience.

"I think if he goes to the Premier League, he will have time on the bench, learning about the matches, but he's just so strong.

"I don't see the point for him to go to Solskjaer, his former coach, to go somewhere else again on loan.

"If he goes to United, he's going there to be part of the first-team squad. Be on the bench, come on, start a few games and learn."
