Liverpool fans have taken to social media to react to comments made about Virgil van Dijk from Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland.
Norway face the Netherlands in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday and Van Dijk has returned to the Dutch squad for the first time since his injury sustained against Everton last season.
And speaking ahead of the clash, Haaland had this to say about the Liverpool man.
"I think he is the best defender. I think quite a few others in the room agree with me on that," Haaland told TV2.
"He is fast, strong and smart, and there are three important things you must have. I have played against him twice.
"I have said that he is the best I have met. He is a good player, so we have to try to play around him."
Van Dijk has earned himself a sizeable reputation since he made the £75million switch from Southampton to the Reds in January 2018, winning numerous, individual and team, awards to merit his progression.
And following the comments made by the Norwegian forward, Liverpool fans have taken to social media to express their delight at the comments from a forward they would love to see line up at Anfield.
