Chelsea have been dealt a potential transfer boost over Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
Haaland is atop the Blues' transfer shortlist ahead of this summer, but they face competition aplenty with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.
In recent weeks, it has been a stream of bad news for Chelsea when it comes to the Norwegian striker.
It was reported recently that Haaland wants a 'top club' and that Chelsea don't fit the bill, and the striker followed that up by hinting he could stay at Dortmund.
“I still have three years of contract at Borussia Dortmund,” he said. “I am not worried about that.”
A reported fee of more than £100million may take Haaland's future out of his hands, to a degree, but the striker will likely have his pick of clubs if he is to be sold.
And Manchester United have been favourites to many with Haaland's fellow countryman Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the Old Trafford helm.
But that Norwegian link isn't worth paying too much attention to, according to Erling's father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who told Sport1 recently: "It's dangerous to sign for a coach because he can then be sacked."
That suggests Haaland junior will look at the club more than the manager, a boost Chelsea might just need.
Though, the Blues will still likely struggle to compete with Manchester United and Real Madrid when it comes to sheer club size, even if their squad more than keeps up with both.
Haaland will command a fee of more than £100million this summer, but should he stay, he will be available for just £68million next summer when his release clause comes into play.
