Erling Haaland 'prefers Real Madrid move' over Manchester United and more transfer rumours

Erling Braut Haaland would rather join Real Madrid than Manchester United when he leaves Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

Haaland has firmly established himself as one of the world's best young strikers over the last year after initially bursting onto the scene at Red Bull Salzburg before joining Dortmund last January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coached his countryman at Molde and United were interested in signing the 20-year-old before he moved to Germany, but pulled out of the deal as they refused to agree to a buyout clause and percentage of future sales.

Haaland's stock has continued to rise at Dortmund, with 21 goals in just 24 games, and United continue to be linked with a move for the towering striker. He is believed to have a release clause in his contract that is activated in 2022.

However, according to ABC, Haaland would prefer a move to Madrid over Old Trafford when he chooses to leave Signal Iduna Park.

It's reported that linking up with compatriot Martin Odegaard is a big factor in his decision and that the relationship between Dortmund and the Spanish champions should make a deal simple.

Although, the report adds, Madrid rate Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe as a higher priority than the Norwegian and the high commission which would be demanded by his agent, Mino Raiola, could threaten negotiations

Elsewhere, Madrid are reportedly considering signing a new left-back and could trigger the buy-back clause in Sergio Reguilon's Tottenham contract.

AS claim Madrid are concerned over Marcelo's form and could look to buy Reguilon when the clause becomes active next summer.

United were interested in the defender but were unwilling to agree to the clause that Madrid insisted on. Instead, United bought Alex Telles from Porto.
