Erling Haaland makes Jadon Sancho plea during England vs Germany

They may not be teammates for much longer, but Erling Haaland knows exactly how good Jadon Sancho is and what he can bring to any team.

The right winger is subject of heavy interest from Manchester United, who are believed to have agreed on a transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund.

Despite Sancho's sensational performances in the Bundesliga and Uefa Champions League, he can't find a way into Gareth Southgate's starting XI at Euro 2020.

The 21-year-old once again started on the bench for the Three Lions' last-16 clash with Germany having only briefly featured in the group stages.

His Norwegian teammate at Dortmund appears to be as eager to see him make an impact for England as much as the fans themselves, tweeting this at half-time of the tie:

With the team moving the ball at an interminably slow pace and offering little penetration in the penalty box, Haaland knows exactly what England needs in this game.

However, the selection proved to be a masterstroke from Gareth Southgate, as England took the lead in the second half through Raheem Sterling from a Luke Shaw assist.

Shaw was again involved as he fed substitute Jack Grealish to set up Harry Kane to seal it and send England into the quarter-finals.
