Erling Haaland hints at future plans after snubbing Manchester United transfer

Erling Haaland has dismissed the possibility of him leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Norwegian striker sealed a move to the German club from RB Salzburg in January, with United missing out on his transfer despite registering serious interest. United scouts watched Haaland and were keen on a move, though the fact Haaland is represented by controversial super-agent Mino Raiola, plus a number of proposed add-ons in the deals, forced the Old Trafford club to pull out.

Haaland previously worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and has spoken effusively about the United boss.

But the 20-year-old, who enjoyed a stunning start to his Dortmund career by scoring 13 goals in 15 appearances, insists he is focussed on trying to win the Bundesliga with his current side.

Speaking to German media outlet Bild, he said: "I have a long-term contract here until 2024. In any case, it is my big goal to win BVB the title and to celebrate fantastic successes with our fans.

"We have the quality to become champions but talking alone is not enough. Bayern have distinguished themselves by their incredible consistency."

So while a move for Haaland appears out of the question, United are expected to press on with their interest in his Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho.

The England winger is a top target for United this summer, though no deal has been reached between the two clubs over a transfer. The summer transfer window opened on July 27th.
