Erling Haaland 'has £17m release clause' as Europe's giants eye transfer

Red Bull Salzburg youngster Erling Haaland reportedly has a £17million release clause in his contract as Europe's giants circle for a January bidding war.

Haaland has plundered an incredible 27 goals in 20 outings so far this term leading to a host of interest from across the continent in the 19-year-old.

Manchester United and Arsenal are among the clubs linked with the striker who has scored eight goals in five Champions League matches this season - finding the net at least once in each of those games.

Haaland and Salzburg will bid to knock European champions Liverpool out of the competition when they face off in a make-or-break group game in Austria.

But he may not be in Salzburg for much longer, with German outlet Bild reporting he is available for just £17million when they winter transfer window opens.

They also claim Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for Haaland's services as the German giants bid to close the five-point gap to Bundesliga leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worked with Haaland during his time in charge of Norwegian side Molde.

Norway international Haaland is the son of former Leeds and Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge who famously suffered a gruesome leg break after a horror tackle by ex-United skipper Roy Keane.
