Erling Haaland agent makes Premier League admission after Man Utd transfer snub

Erling Haaland could well end up playing in the Premier League one day despite not joining Manchester United , says his agent Mino Raiola.

But Raiola insisted the Norwegian striker's £18million switch to join Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga was the right move.

Haaland, 19, joined Dortmund earlier this month amid interest from United, who had been widely regarded as the favourites to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg.

The teenager made an instant impact for his new club, scoring a 20-minute hat-trick after coming on as a second-half sub to inspire his side to a 5-3 victory over Augsburg.

Super agent Raiola is sure Haaland chose wisely in opting for the Bundesliga, saying: "I think it was the right move to go to Germany.

"Because if you talk about the Premier League and you see the Premier League as the most important point of the pyramid, you need to be careful when you come here."

Raiola suggested Haaland was destined to play in the Premier League, saying he would use his time in Germany to prepare himself for 'the best' league.

"I think he's also preparing himself for the best," said Raiola. "He's so young that he has time to come."

Haaland was also reportedly the subject of interest from Juventus as well as United before joining Dortmund - but Raiola would not disclose which clubs came close to securing him.

"He was close to a lot of clubs, which ones I don't tell you," Raiola said.

And the agent insisted he had not been at all surprised by Haaland's dramatic entrance to German football, saying: "I was not surprised. I don't know who was surprised.

"It's what he's [been] doing since I met him.

"He's a boy made for scoring goals and I know he will keep on like this."
