Eritrea's President Isaias Afwerki has travelled Mogadishu for talks with Somali leaders, as they rebuild diplomatic relations.
The two nations agreed to restore ties in July, ending 15 years of hostilities.
There is perhaps a desire to change the state of play in the highly tense region that has seen conflicts and humanitarian devastation in the past.
