Erin McClean has paid tribute to her husband and Republic of Ireland footballer James McClean.
Erin said the Stoke City winger changed her 'for the better' in a post online.
Sharing a photo of the couple on Instagram, she said: "'Real love doesn’t meet you at your best. It meets you in your mess.’
"My life was most definitely going a different direction, a life I would have regretted.
"Thankful for the night I met this man. Changed me for the better."
Erin and James got married in 2016 in St Columb's Church, Co Derry and famously postponed their honeymoon as the winger had to concentrate on Euro 2016.
McClean was named in Stephen Kenny's Ireland squad on Thursday for this month's internationals.
The Boys in Green face England in a friendly at Wembley next Thursday before UEFA Nations League clashes with Wales and Bulgaria.
Kenny has yet to taste victory as senior boss and scoring goals has become a massive problem for his side.
That problem became bigger on Wednesday after David McGoldrick announced his shock retirement from international football.
McClean netted the winner in a 1-0 win for Stoke against Rotherham on Halloween and also played 90 minutes in his side's 3-2 defeat to Watford on Wednesday.
