Following the addition of three new little Hearties, When Calls the Heart is officially back in production on Season 14. The excitement has been building over the last few weeks as the cast made their way to Canada to begin filming. Some of them have even been posting from set already. Now that filming has finally started, though, Erin Krakow celebrated with a perfect post.
Krakow previously shared that she was on her way to Vancouver to film the new season, along with husband and co-star Ben Rosenbaum and their baby daughter. So it was only a matter of time before the celebratory posts began that confirmed production had started. Krakow is known for posting tons of BTS content, both during and after filming, and her first post to commemorate the start of production is a sweet video involving a few of her co-stars. It is so great seeing Krakow back in Hope Valley, and it’s even better to see her with her on-screen fiancé, Kevin McGarry, as well as the kids. Since the Season 13 finale saw Nathan and Elizabeth finally getting engaged, it's fitting that Krakow would mark the start of work on Season 14 with this clip. Of course, we’ve long gotten content of Krakow, McGarry, Jaeda Lily Miller, who plays Nathan’s daughter, Allie, and Hyland Goodrich, who plays Elizabeth’s son, LJ. However, this feels particularly poignant due to the characters' impending nuptials and blending of their families.
Since Krakow tends to post a handful of BTS content, I can only assume that this is just the first taste we get of the Grant-Thornton family before they become one. There’s also one other piece of BTS content I cannot wait for, and that’s a photo of Krakow and Lori Loughlin together again on set. Loughlin is set to reprise her role as Abigail Stanton for several episodes of Season 14. She appeared in the final moments of Season 13’s finale as she returned to Hope Valley, meaning we may be seeing her at the beginning of Season 14.
As of now, aside from the wedding and Abigail’s return, not much is known about Season 14. It’s entirely possible that most of the BTS content that Krakow will post won’t reveal too much, as she may want to avoid spoilers.
If anything, she also posts a lot when the season is airing, so we might just have to wait a while until more photos and videos roll in. That being said, filming literally just started, so at the very least, there may still be some fun posts to look forward to in the coming weeks.
While When Calls the Heart won’t be premiering on Hallmark until 2027, I'm happy with the fact that filming has kicked off on Season 14 and that Erin Krakow and co. appear happy to be back on set. Hopefully, more information on the new season will be announced soon but, in the meantime, all 13 seasons of WCTH can be streamed on Hallmark+.
