Erin Andrews was awarded $55 million by a jury in her lawsuit against her stalker who secretly recorded a video through a peephole.
Andrews, the Fox News correspondent and co-host of Dancing With the Stars, filed the lawsuit six years ago against Michael David Barrett, who recorded her through an altered peephole in a Nashville hotel.
After Monday's verdict was read, Andrews thanked her family, legal team and supporters.
"I would like to thank the Nashville court, the court personnel and the jury for their service," Andrews said in a statement posted on Twitter.
"The support I've received from the people of Nashville has been overwhelming. I would also like to thank my family, friends and legal team. I've been honored by all the support from victims around the world. Their outreach has helped me be able to stand up and hold accountable those whose job it is to protect everyone's safety, security and privacy.”
Andrews originally sought $75 million from Barrett, West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group. According to The Tennessean, Barrett is 51 per cent at fault, while the hotel owner and management company are 49 per cent.
