'Eriksen again?' - These Spurs fans can't believe Mauricio Pochettino's Southampton decision

Mauricio Pochettino has named his side to face Southampton this afternoon.

Spurs will be aiming to bounce back after three disappointing results against Olympiacos, Leicester City and Colchester United over the past couple of weeks, with the Tottenham manager naming a completely different side to the one that crashed out of the cup on penalties on Wednesday night.

There is two changes from the team that lost 2-1 against Leicester at the King Power Stadium in their last Premier League game, with club captain Hugo Lloris returning in goal after the birth of his son which has seen him sit out of the last two games in which Paulo Gazzaniga deputising.

The other change sees Christian Eriksen come into the side replacing Eric Lamela in midfield. Eriksen is a controversial figure around White Hart Lane, with fans not happy with the Danish international's recent performances.

Eriksen was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer, with the player speaking of his desire to take up a new challenge, but a transfer didn't materialise and the midfielder will now be a Spurs player until at least January.

The 27-year-old has started just three of Spurs' Premier League games this season, scoring his only goal in the north London derby against Arsenal.

He came on as a substitute for the defeat to Colchester, but saw his shootout spot kick saved as Spurs crashed out.

Mauricio Pochettino insists Tottenham are 'united'

Upon the announcement of the team, Spurs fans took to social media, with some not too happy with the Dane's inclusion.

Eriksen will be hoping to prove the fans wrong by putting in an impressive performance in today's match.
